Passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home for the Aged, Brussels on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the age of 95. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Nelly (Smits) Arts for 63 years. Loving father of Joanne (Larry), John (Hilrita), Harry (Donna), Gary (Pat), Lou (Gina), Dan (Heather), Tony (Susan), and Marg (Bill). Cherished Grandpa of Jeremy, Kevin (Megan); Robyn (Adam), Nicholas, Tyson (Jenn), Hailey, Kaleb (Taylor); Jenna (Matthew), Abby (Blake), Trisha (Charles); Ally (Mark); Justin (Jessica), Kaitlin (Jesse), Tabitha (Justin), Natasha; Katlyn; Ashley (Dorothy), Kristen (Matt), Jesse (Alex), and Jason. Great-grandpa of Gabryelle; Anderson, Hudson, Griffin; Rylee, Emma, Dylan; Mila, Maxine, Niko; Louie, Nora; Chloe; Lincoln, Hayden, Austin; Scarlett; Mckinley, Riley, Avery; Harold, and Eleanor. Dear brother of Mary, Till, Nellie, Anne, George (Mary Lou), Henny, Bill (Mary Lou), Hubert (June); and brother-in-law of Francien, Oda, Jan, and Mien. Predeceased by his son Joseph, parents John and Anna (Kessels) Arts, sister Dean (Martin), brother Leo, and siblings-in-law, Cor, Gary, Pierre, Marie (Gerhard), Jo (Francis), Jo, Trus (Jan), Louis (Toos), and Huub. Harry will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Uniac and the entire staff at Huronlea Home for the Aged for the love and care provided to Harry during his stay.
Harry’s Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 22 Victoria Street, Seaforth on Saturday, October 26th at 11 AM. Interment at St. James Catholic Cemetery, Seaforth. Following the interment, family and friends are invited to gather at the Seaforth Community Centre for a time of reception.
If you are unable to attend the service in person, the family invites you to watch the mass recording on Saturday afternoon at www.facebook.com/haskettfh.
Donations to the Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
