MARRINAN: Wayne Joseph “Joe” of Arkona

August 1, 2021 By Haskett Funeral Homes 56 Condolences

MARRINAN: Wayne Joseph “Joe” of Arkona

It is with heavy hearts that we say good bye to our beloved Joe Marrinan who passed on July 29, 2021.  Dear son of Joyce Marrinan and the late Pat Marrinan (2017).  Long time and loved friend of JoAnne Taylor and family. Dear brother/brother-in-law of Helen (Les), Deb (Rob), Mary Lou (2018), Mike, Jim, David (1997) and Dwain/Buzz (Jenny). Loving uncle of Shawn (Lea), Kelly (Darryl), Kerri (Andrew), Chris (Kim), Kyle, Brett, Rachel, Aidan, Tristan and Cole. Loved great uncle of Mya, Brooke, Liam, Kylie, Logan, Carter, Mason and Halle. Uncle Joe was known as the Candy Man to his nieces and nephews, but also to the children of his many friends. He always had sweet treats to share with the little ones. Joe will also be missed by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, friends and former co-workers.

Joe was a dedicated and hard-working concrete former and finisher. He took pride in doing his best work and was always ready to lend a helping hand – his were monstrous hands. He was a gentle giant and true jack of all trades. Some of Joe’s greatest joys in life were a glass or two of Gibson’s finest, a joke, a smoke, and good old country music. He shared lots of laughs with his family and his many, many friends. He shared a very special relationship for over 23 years with JoAnne Taylor who was his closest friend and biggest supporter. After years of hard work, Joe was enjoying retirement and living life at a slower pace.

As per Joe’s personal request there will be no service. We invite his friends and family to celebrate his life by raising a glass and remembering the good times.

Cremation has taken place.  A private family interment will follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Haskett Funeral Home, LUCAN entrusted with arrangements.

“The last goodbye’s the hardest one to say.

This is where the cowboy rides away.”

Memorial donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice or a charity of your choice.

    JoAnne and the Marrinan family,

We are so incredibly sorry to hear of Joeโ€™s passing. He will be fondly remembered for his loving nature, willingness to always help out and his awesome sense of humour. When Joe was around it was always a good time with lots of laughs. We had the privilege of Joe being part of our team at Middlesex Concrete Forming for many years where he could set and strip forms like no other! Those big hands sure came in handy! He was truly one of a kind and every single person he worked with has fond memories of big Joe.
Weโ€™ve all been reminiscing over the many memories with a big smile but a heavy heart that heโ€™s gone way too soon.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and we might just cheer for the Red Wings this year in his honour!

All his friends at Middlesex Concrete Forming Ltd.
