At Guelph General Hospital on Friday, January 28, 2005 Francis (Frank) D. Cawthorpe of Exeter. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Batte) Cawthorpe (1996). Dear father of Dan and Marg Cawthorpe of Sarnia, Jane and Ken Barnes of Orangeville, and Jim and Susan Cawthorpe of Alberta. Dear grandfather of Gale and David; Emily and Christopher; Erin and Meagan and great-grandfather of Amanda, Nick and Michael. Special friend of June Hillen of Exeter. Frank was a veteran of WW II and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, R. E. Pooley Branch #167, Exeter. He was also a long time member at Exeter Golf Course. Cremation has taken place. Suddenly at his place of business on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 Stanley Graham Frayne of Exeter in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Marion Jean Frayne (nee Brown) for 57 years. Loving father of David Frayne and his wife Cathy Cade, Janice and her husband Bill Morris. Dear grandfather of Jim and Pat Morris. Dear brother-in-law of Eva Prout. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Ray, Earl, Jack, Ken and his sister Lilla Mae Moir. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 10 AM at the Exeter Legion Hall, 316 William Street, Exeter with Rev. Paul Ross officiating. Cremation with interment Exeter Cemetery. Stan was a veteran of WW II and was in the Italian Campaign. He was a strong supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion and was awarded a life membership by the R. E. Pooley Branch #167, Exeter. Stan operated his general store for 51 years and will be fondly remembered with his apron, cigar and his sharp wit. He was also the Hay Post Master until his retirement in 1987. Stan was a great humanitarian and gave assistance to many families over the years. In his service to the community, Stan was Past President of the Legion, Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Board and Chairman of the South Huron Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Exeter Legion or the South Huron Hospital. A legion service will be held in the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:45 PM under the auspices of R. E. Pooley Branch #167, Exeter.

Olive Merle Simpson (nee Logan) passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday night, January 21, 2005 at London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus. Born in Warwick Township 81 years ago, daughter of the late Minnie and David Logan. Olive attended London Normal School and began her teaching career at a 1 room school near Forest. She also taught in Lobo Township and at Clandeboye. She retired from Valleyview Public School as teacher-librarian after 28 years of teaching. Beloved wife of George Simpson for 56 years. Loving mother of Hazel and Wayne MacLeod of London and Helen and Jim Hearn and Ken and Shirley Simpson all of RR 2 Lucan. Cherished grandmother of Samantha MacLeod of Toronto. Predeceased by 2 brothers Donald Logan and Floyd Logan and 2 sisters Freeda Lougheed and Hazel Burns. Sister-in-law of Laura Logan, Ralph Lougheed, Don Burns, and Mary Logan all of Forest.
