ZIMMERMAN: Janisse of Zurich

It is with deep sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of Janisse Zimmerman. Janisse was the beloved wife of Jim Zimmerman, devoted mother of Nathan Zimmerman, cherished mother-in-law of Aisha Masaoka, and proud grandmother of Sky and Sam Zimmerman. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers, Grant Gustaevel and Kevin Gustaevel. Janisse was predeceased by her parents, Rolf Gustaevel and Barbara Gustaevel, whose values of family and community she carried throughout her life.

Janisse was one of the kindest and most caring people one could ever hope to know. She possessed a rare gift for connecting with others, making friends wherever she went and leaving every person she met feeling seen, valued, and welcomed. To her son Nathan, she was more than a mother—she was the foundation of his moral compass, teaching by example through her compassion, generosity, integrity, and unwavering belief in the goodness of people. Her warm smile, gregarious spirit, and genuine interest in others made her beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A dedicated public servant and passionate advocate for her community, Janisse served with distinction as a Chief Administrative Officer and was actively involved in municipal council and local initiatives, including efforts to establish a new library for her town. She poured her energy into making her community a better place and touched countless lives through her leadership and service. Above all, Janisse loved her family and her community deeply. She was a beacon of light whose kindness, strength, and generosity will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she enriched and in the enduring love of her family and friends.

A celebration of Janisse’s life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Saturday, July 11th from 1 – 3 PM with words of remembrance at 2 PM.

Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
