At Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Zaida Maude (Coombs) Bruce formerly of Orillia and Bracebridge in her 102nd year. Wife of the late Floyd Bruce (1978). Dear mother of Doris and Guy Giddings of Exeter and the late Jean (Gilbert) Morrison (2007). Dear grandmother of LeeAnne and Michael Wiebe, D.J. and Glenn Chrysler; and Stephen and Sharon Gilbert. Also missed by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Zaida was predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters.
There will be no funeral home visitation. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Kirk Cemetery, Bracebridge.
Donations to the Federation of Ontario Naturalists or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Your mother has lived through a lot of history from the sinking of the Titanic, 2 world wars, just think of the inventions and simply the style of living. She has seen it all. Remarkable Lady!

We send you our deepest sympathies on the passing of your dear mother.She had lived a long life, and we realize that her death was not untimely,but that does not ease the pain of parting, nor the sense that the circle of family is broken once again.
We always enjoyed speaking with Mrs. Bruce when we were in your office on Front Street.She was always so cheerful. You will have many wonderful memories to sustain you through this difficult time.
