Passed away peacefully at LHSC – Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the age of 71. Proud dad of Tonya and Josh Hummel. Adored grandpa of Khloe, and Mylee. Cherished son of Isabelle and the late Norman (2017) Young. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Murray Young (Deb), Ralph Young, Nancy Young, and Sandra Jessome (Silby). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Garry was always up for touring around; he would say “gas tank is full, where are we going today?” He cherished his time with family and friends and always made time for visits. Even after retirement from many hardworking years at Lavis, Garry always kept a keen eye on the crews and kept up with the comings and goings.
A come and go celebration of Garry’s life will be held at the Seaforth Legion, 123 Main Street South, SEAFORTH on Sunday, September 22nd from 1 – 4 PM. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at Brussels Cemetery at a later date.
Donations to Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

We just learned of Garry’s passing yesterday. We are sad to have missed the celebration of life of such a great person.
Brad used to work at Lavis when Garry was there.

Condolences to your family.
While walking my dog around the block, I would often visit with Garry. We would chat about school, our RAV4’s, and family being at the top of our list! Garry always had praises for his family! I will miss him dearly. 😔
