Teresa passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Gerrit Wynja (2002). Cherished mom of Gerben and Jeanette Wynja, Al Wynja (Arlene), Gerda and Gary Dill, Hessie Kipfer, Martin and Mary Wynja, Hilda and George Ridley, Corrie and Larry Moir, and Sandra Hoggart (Jason). Proud Beppe of many much loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Dear sister of Kornelis and sister-in-law of Hiltje (Wim). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Jeen and Geertje Postma, son Jeen Wynja (1967), daughter-in-law Frances Wynja (2015), sons-in-law Dave Kipfer (2016), Wayne Campbell (2023), and 2 great-grandchildren.
Teresa loved to read, crochet, and knit, and was always happiest with her hands busy. Equally at home in the barn, in the field or in the house, she could do just about anything and never shied away from hard work. Deeply involved in her church and always willing to lend a hand, she gave generously of her time and talents. But more than anything, she treasured time spent with her family.
A private family funeral service will be held. Interment Egmondville Cemetery.

Hilda, George and family, plus the rest of the Wynja family. We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom / grandmother. It sounds like she was the strong matriarch of your family for so very many years, a title, based on what we have heard, that she took very seriously. She will leave a big hole. May you all feel God’s comfort as you lay her to rest.

Voor een speciale tante, onze tante Tryntsje, jullie moeder, groot en overgrootmoeder. De zus van mijn vader Marten Kerst Postma en Teunia Schaap. Gecondoleerd met het verlies. Zo blij maakte ze ons als ze naar friesland kwam of op visite zelfs naar Texel. Ze nam altijd een cadautje mee en sloffen in hele mooie felle kleuren. die droegen we met ferve tot ze versleten. Van heel sterk garen. Altijd gedacht dat ze dat garen alleen in canada hadden! En tante tryntsje was haar tijd ver vooruit, ze ging altijd wandelen als ze bij ons logeerde, met haar canadese gymschoenen in mooie kleuren. In die jaren wisten wij amper wat gymschoenen waren. En de luchtpost die wij ontvingen of verstuurden, zoveel brieven gekregen op het poepehus. Foto’s en verhalen die ons bij elkaar brachten. Tante heeft voor altijd een speciaal plekje in mijn hart, voor jullie veel sterkte. En een speciale knuffel voor jullie allemaal.

Dear family, we have so many memories of tante, aunt, Tryntsje. My mother, her sister, Corrie and my father Hessel, youngest brother of omke Gerrit, were also married, so a special bond in that way, and for us as children as well.

I have many wonderful memories of spending time with the Wynja family in my childhood days; playing outdoor games, going to SS#9 Tuckersmith , attending the same church and watching our parents enjoying a cup of coffee while the yarn just flew across the knitting needles!

It was a pleasure looking after your mother and Oma at the Exeter Villa. She lived her faith in quiet humbleness, contentment and knowing Whose she was in Christ Jesus. She never demanded attention but rested, patiently awaiting her care, enjoying her days and seeing her family, playing games with her children and having good visits. A great heritage and example to follow.
