WUYTENBURG: Albert of London

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Albert, who peacefully left us at the age of 90 on Monday, October 27, 2025. Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life that was truly full — a life defined by kindness, laughter, integrity, and endless generosity.

Born in Keldonk in 1935, Albert grew up with a sense of curiosity and determination that shaped everything he did. Whether through his work, his friendships, or his devotion to family, he touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and at ease — a rare and lasting legacy.

Over his nine decades, Albert built a life rich with stories and accomplishments. He was a painter by trade, working hard for more than 70 years. But above all, he was proudest of the people he loved and those who loved him in return.

Albert will be deeply missed by his wife Nellie of 60 years, his sons Robert (Mona) and Dick (Teri) and 8 grandchildren, Meaghan, Kate (Connor), Nick, Ben, Brittany (Michael), Hailey (Ryan), Ashly (Camilo), and Claire. Albert will also be missed by the Wuytenburg and Loyens families, both in Canada and the Netherlands. Predeceased by his brothers Martin, John (Betsy), Mies, and Toon (Tiny).

His wisdom, humor, and warmth will live on in every shared memory and every heart he touched. As we say goodbye, we cherish his memories and will always remember the words he often cheered everyone on with – hip hip hooray!

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at AgeCare London who gave Albert excellent care and showed him love and compassion during his time there.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Monday, November 3rd from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM.

Albert’s funeral mass will be held the following day on Tuesday, November 4th at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 32922 Richmond Street, Lucan at 11AM. Interment St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

If you are unable to attend the service in person, the family invites you to watch the service recording online at www.facebook.com/haskettfh on Tuesday afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Karen’s Place London would be appreciated by the family.
