Dear Frank, Vincent, Henri, Marlene, Andrew, Mark and dear families,
Our sincere condolences on the loss of your mother (in law) and (great-)grandmother.
We remember Aunt Riet as a strong, intelligent, and warm woman.
Emigrating back then wasn’t easy. Together with Uncle Harrie, she built a future for their family in Canada. They were happy there, but their ties to the Netherlands remained. Through letter writing, phone calls and FaceTime, the siblings kept each other updated.
Last year, she and Marlene visited the Netherlands on her beloved Rozenpas. Her Dutch family was very much looking forward to this visit and talked about it for a long time afterwards.
She will be deeply missed.
We wish you much strength.
