Condolence from Marina Rawlings-Handy on May 21st, 2009 11:00 AM

To my Dad…. You were a man of few words but when you spoke them they were full of wit and sarcasm and a little bit of judgment. The wit portrayed your uncanny ability to always be right; your sarcasm was there to always make us laugh and to not take life too seriously; your judgment was to force Sean and I to always do our best in life. A man of few words, you were never one to get &&single&&sloppy&&single&& with words of praise; you were never one to dole out compliments. The last words you spoke to me however, were “I love you”. And as I put my head next to yours on your pillow and looked into your eyes, you smiled at me and whispered “You are so pretty”. You gave me the love and praise I needed when I needed it the most.

Dad, you are my hero. A man of strong morals, a man so talented with his hands you could build anything, a man who treasured his family above all else.

I will never forget your smile, nor your hugs, nor your humour. Of all the things you could pass on to me, I received your humour and your outlook on life. For this I will forever be grateful. Thank you, Dad, for being everything to me that a &&single&&Daddy&&single&&s Little Girl&&single&& could ever wish for.

I love you too.

Your Daughter,
Marina

Condolence from Laurel Austin on May 21st, 2009 6:00 AM

Pat, Marina, Sean and families:

Well, I guess God decided it was time for Bill to start in the Garden of Eden. I&&single&&m sorry I won&&single&&t be able to attend the visitation this evening but my thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you during this difficult journey. I will think of Bill every cold Sunday morning when I go to turn the heater on to keep my feet warm and every time I make a mistake on the organ. I think he heard more mistakes with his keen ears than I did. We will certainly miss him but will keep our fond memories of him close to heart.

Take care,

Laurel

Condolence from Ruth Mott on May 21st, 2009 11:00 AM

My dear friend Pat, Bill was a good friend and a man admired by both Allen and I. Will they be together in Heaven talking about roses and windmills? I have no doubt that they will. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. The tribute by Marina was very touching, and perfect for a good father.

Condolence from Robb Finch, Deb Mellor and family on May 21st, 2009 11:00 AM

Pat, Marina, Sean and families :
No doubt the outpouring of sympathy you have received since Bill&&single&&s parting has been of some consolation. Hopefully it will serve as a reminder to you of how well-loved and liked he was … look around … and you will be astonished to find all of the people whose lives he has touched.

We have all been blessed to know this incredible man.

I hope that you and your family will find peace and comfort in knowing that his suffering is over and that his just rewards await him.
May God bless you and your wonderful family.

Condolence from dawn ward on May 23rd, 2009 4:00 AM

To Pat Sean Marina and family.
Thinking of you all at this difficult time in your lives. We are all thinking of you. Bill was a very special brother to me, and I can always remember the time i annoyed him over some small thing and he chased me round the kitchen table trying to strangle me but i always got away.Another story, he also chased me round the back garden trying to hide behind a clothes post whilst throwing stones at me, I was probably being the cheeky sister!.He meant to get me.But at the end of the day he was my brother who i really cared for and loved.Terry thought of him as a brother. God bless and rest in peace. x

Condolence from lynn, ched and shane on May 26th, 2009 3:00 AM

our thoughts are with pat, sean, marina and families at this very sad time. when i was younger we didnt get on but as we both got older we grew closer together and he was one of the best brothers you could wish to have. we always looked forward to him coming over and staying with us during his visits back in england. ched and bill both had the same sick sense of humour and during his latter years he shared the same interest as shane in man utd. he was a brother in a million and he will be missed deary but never forgotten. love you bill xxxx
