Beautifully said, and lovely picture memories of a life well lived. Hard to believe that Barrie is gone, but like all of us that will eventually pass on, he will not be forgotten.

We shared many great times with you and Barrie. We fondly remember fabulous dinner parties, with ‘casts of thousands’, in your NN home, and many golf rounds, laughing ourselves silly at Barrie’s great jokes and one-liners! We also remember vividly your fabulous costumes for themed events at the golf club!
Doug loved ribbing Barrie about ‘moving his woodpile’! He always said he and Barrie shared the same ‘sick’ sense of humour!
The last time I (Wendy) saw you was in front of Cardero’s in Vancouver, the day you were leaving for the East, RV loaded to the hilt. Little did I imagine that would be the last time I would see Barrie. We sincerely hope it’s not the last time we’ll see you! Doug and I really regret not getting together in Borrego Springs or in Palm Desert.

I am so sorry to hear of Barrie’s passing. He was my first friend at Peat Marwick in 1972 when I first arrived in Vancouver. And I think you and he baby sat my son Jason when he was just a few months old in 1974. He also joined me at Chambers Philips and we remained close until you both moved to Whistler. Despite a long absence I feel his loss.

Barrie was my closest friend and confidant in my teenage and university years. The zany and crazy adventures and exploits we enjoyed together are too numerous to recount but we had some wild and wonderful times. Over the ensuing years we slowly lost contact with each other but the fond (and humorous) memories persist. I was sorry to hear about Barrie’s passing. He will undoubtedly be sorely missed by Debra and the rest of his family and friends.

I was saddened to hear about Barrie. We grew up together in my high school and university days and were good buddies and had a LOT of fun. And some good tennis games. I moved to Calgary in 1973 and the only time I’ve seen him since was at Whistler in the 90’s. I was on the first tee, hit my drive and some guy races across the fairway, picks up my ball and sits on the side. What? It was him of course. He knew I was teeing off. Same ol Barrie. So although I haven’t seen him for quite awhile I’ll miss him. Good guy. And still have good memories. Harvey Thal.
