WEBBER: Helen Grace (Selves) of Exeter

1924 – 2024

Passed away peacefully at Jessica’s House on Sunday, March 31, 2024, 11 days shy of her 100th birthday. Loving wife of the late Lee Webber (2003). Cherished mother of Marg McCarter, Barb and Larry Ratz, Marlene O’Brien, and Doug and Patty Webber. Proud grandma of Gerry, Larry (Leona), Dan (Vicki), Trevor (Janine), Tracy (Giovanni), Tammy (Rick), Jeff (Lori), Mike (Lisa), Melissa (Erik), Brianne (Drew), and Brian (Emily) and great-grandma of 20 and great great-grandma of 9. Predeceased by her parents John and Ethel Selves, son-in-law Gord McCarter (2022), brother Fred Selves (1938), and sister Mabel Hern (2021).

When Lee returned from the Army, together he and Helen farmed for 38 years before retiring to Exeter and enjoyed curling, golfing, and many miles of traveling the world.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Wednesday from 5 – 8 PM. A private family funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 4th at 11 AM. Interment Exeter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to South Huron Hospital Foundation, Jessica’s House or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the staff at the Exeter Villa for the many happy years spent there and to the staff at Jessica’s House for their care and compassion shown to Helen during her final days. Special thanks to Dr. Jadd for his many years of care.

Travelling in our motorhomes, especially to Eureka California with a caravan of 22 other units. Our caravan ended there., and then we travelled up the West Coast to British Columbia and worked on way home to Exeter. We had a wonderful time.. Helen and I talked about this trip many times here at the Villa. I will be thinking of all of you. Irv.
