Over the years I always caught up in conversation with him at local events and you were always by his side. Hold those memories close to your heart. Keeping you in my thoughts. Linda Mills

Condolence from Cliff and Val Thomson on March 6th, 2024 11:02 AM

Catherine & Chris, Your dad was a proud farmer with his beef, sheep and crops. I was always impressed with his straight planted rows, straightest in the township, long before GPS. His many years of service to Blanshard and Perth South council was appreciated too. If ever you asked Gerry a question the answer was well thought out with sound reasoning. You just had to be patient for the answer. Catherine, you have inherited some of those same qualities being an engineer. You can be very proud of your dad. So sorry for your loss.

Catherine and All, my condolences in the loss of your father. Gerry started high school a year after me. We connected right away because we were farm kids. Condolence from Fred and Wendy Dunlop on March 7th, 2024 9:37 AM

Catherine our condolences to you and your family. I met your parents in 1991. Your dad was raking hay with his JOHN DEERE 1630 and you were riding on his knee.
I purchased the tractor from Gerry and drove it home to our farm at Stayner a 7.5 hr drive .
I phoned your mom when I got home and asked her how far Gerry had driven this tractor since folk were waving to me all the way to Conn. Your mom laughed.
You were blessed with beautiful parents.
hugs
Fred and Wendy Dunlop
PS Little Gerry is stored away in our barn

Condolence from Sandra & Larry Hern on March 15th, 2024 2:04 PM

Dear Catherine, Chris and Luke and the Switzer Family,

Gerry was a man of who offered his opinions and thoughts in a slow, but deliberate manner. We had some good times at the Whalen Pot Luck suppers and Card Parties at the Old School, as well as the Annual Pork Chop BBQ that both Gerry and Barb helped out with. Catherine , you were the light of your parents lives and it was so wonderful that your Dad got to meet little baby Luke! May all your good memories of your Dad help to heal the sadness you feel at his loss.
