VIDINHA: Shawn of Huron Park

Unexpectedly at his home in Huron Park on Monday, June 5, 2023, at the age of 32. Proud son of Osvalda Vidinha and her partner Gord McEvoy, and his step father Jeff Acres. Cherished father of Lucinda, and Nathan. Loving brother of Andrew Acres (Amanda), Jesse Acres, and Holly Vidinha. Fun uncle Shawn of his nieces and nephews. Dear nephew of many aunts and uncles.

Shawn was a lover of all music, and he enjoyed writing, playing, or just listening. He had an artistic side to him and he could draw just about anything he set his mind to. He will be missed for his jokes and making anyone in the room laugh. Hearing others laugh, is what made him happy.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Shawn’s life will be held at a later date.

Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Shawnang was a beautiful soul and always meant well. Unfortunately he lost his battles with his demons. Shawn LOVED his children Lucinda & Nathan, I know deep down he wished he could have had great relationship with his kids, unfortunately the mothers of his children kept him from his children (not without reason) but hindering his ability to be a present father. I don’t doubt that this contributed to his struggle with substance. Shawn gave his heart and soul to everyone he loved, he was a musician, a comedian, a lover, a friend, a son, a cousin, and uncle. He will forever be missed by those who loved him and saw his best qualities despite the struggles he had. He was the brightest ray of sun in a lot of peoples lives, it’s both heartbreaking and tragic that he left so soon. It’s even more tragic that people whom he loved would write unsavoury comments on his obituary, I pray for him and his families sake that they see who it is coming from and know that it’s not something to take to heart because those who loved Shawn know he was a beautiful spirit who deserves to be commemorated in a way that fits who he was and that is :beautiful, extraordinary, kind, compassionate and most importantly loved.

I am shocked to learn of his passing. I was fortunate to have met Shawn and share wonderful moments with him. I was hesitant to write but he wanted me to share that if this day ever came, to let the world know the love he had for his mother and his aunt Lisa. He always talked about his daughter and son then show pictures of them and smile proudly. I will truly miss you Shawn. I’m sad I will not get a chance to see you again beautiful creature. My deepest sorrows and sympathies to the family of Shawn. Love, Sarah

Condolence from Ava on June 13th, 2023 6:14 PM

Uncle Shawn was such a beautiful soul who I’m grateful to have had in my life since I was born. He was my dads best friend, my uncles best friend and my best friend. He gave me lots of advice, love, learning experiences and so many opportunities to expand my perspective of things in the world like religion and mythology. He was always so proud of his music and writing as well as mine, he was a huge support to me and i appreciated him so much. He was so supportive and excited to meet my daughter, it’s unfortunate that he never got to but now he looks over her and loves her from above. I miss and love you so much, Uncle Shawn. Xoxo -Ava and Mya

Condolence from Andrew S on June 13th, 2023 8:34 PM

I had some of the best times of my entire life with Shawn. From playing chess with our morning coffee or tea, to staying up until late at night making music. Shawn taught me a lot about life and was always a shoulder to cry on for me. He supported me in every way he possibly could, out of the kindness of his heart, with nothing expected in return.

He was raised to be a good person, and that’s truly what he was. His mother did an immaculate job raising him to always look out for others and do the right thing.

My most sincere condolences to his mother, brothers, and sister. I love you all like family, and I truly appreciate how you’ve all accepted me into your homes and family for the vast majority of my life. Please reach out if you need anything at all.

Rest in peace Shawn.
Thanks for being someone I could come to, a friend. I hope I make you proud. I love you.

My dearest nephew, I take comfort in knowing that you are at peace now. I will always hold in my heart, the memories, laughter and goofiness that you have shared with me. Your passion for music and art was your joy. You were so creative not only with your hands, but with your imagination just to know that I truly loved you and you will be dearly missed by everyone by who has ever been in your life. I believe that grandma welcomed you with open arms and your heart felt warm. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts.. 🙏❤️

From an early age, Shawn became one of the best friends and cousins a person could ask for. He was humorous, helpful, optimistic, and full of life. Shawn was the type of person who’s smile and contagious laughter could brighten up a room. Many of my happiest childhood memories were made spending time with my cousin Shawn, listening to his vibrant music collection, and talking about the many aspirations he had for his future. Shawn was extremely intelligent, highly artistic, and beyond musically inclined. He was always quick with a kind word, and supportive advice. After my Uncle (Jeff) and Aunt separated, we saw Shawn less, but did not love him any less. His Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin continued to inquire and worry about his health and wellbeing. We will always love you Shawn, and I am proud and honoured to call you my cousin. My deepest sympathy to Aunt Ozzy, Jessie, Holly and Andrew.

My condolences to Ozzy, Jesse, Holly, Andrew, Shawns’s Aunts/Uncles, Cousins and his 2 children whom I have never had the privilege of meeting!

Although I had not seen Shawn for a long time, one day he appeared in front of me and said “Aunt Jen” Oh my gosh I was so happy to see him that day. I gave him a big hug! He said he was presently working in Construction and loved it! I was so happy for him. Although I haven’t seen him since my love for him would never dimish! For love is not a
Symbol/word it is from the depths of your heart/soul and is unconditional!

I remember when he was a baby/ child he was so sweet, loving, smart, well behaved and as much my nephew as anyone else.

RIP my sweet nephew, you are in Gods loving hands now/ Eternal love!
