Ray will be missed with his friendly wave from the porch or happily out cutting the grass. Ray was a longtime friend of my uncle and also my Mom and I am sure they have reunited with the Razer to talk of oldtimes. Rest in Peace Ray , Columbia will not be the same without you, Bob Dawe

So very sorry to hear about Raymond’s passing. So many memories of him working as my Dad’s hired hand on the farm. When I think of Raymond I can hear him singing as he is driving the tractor in the fields. Always smiling and oh that giggle. Later in life when I drove bus I would always make sure to look for him as I drove by his place for that big wave and smile. In Memory of Ray

Ray was one of a kind. He lived simply, worked hard, and stayed true to himself. Even after life took different turns, I stayed in touch with him over the years, and I’m grateful for that.

He had a kind heart and a smiling face—and he’d give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Ray loved being outside cutting lawns, enjoyed a good card game, and always had music playing—especially the old stuff and country, always on the radio—everything else was too high-tech for him. He’d often sing to himself, talk out loud like he had company, and he usually did—his pets were never far.

In the later years, life grew quieter for him. Most of his old friends had passed—and his wife, too—and I know he felt that. But Ray kept going in his own quiet way.

The last time I saw him was just a week before he passed. He was in the hospital, in a lot of pain, but never once complained. He was tired, but still fighting—right to the end.

May he rest peacefully now, with some tunes in the background, a deck of cards in hand, and a beer.

Sorry to hear that Ray passed away, my deepest condolences to Rob and the rest of the family .

The staff at Jane and Company are deeply saddened to hear of Ray’s passing.
We only saw Ray at tax time, but every year without fail, he would leave change for a coffee for us.
What a kind soul. It was a pleasure to see him with his smile and soft laughter.
