I will never forget all the fun I had while growing up in Dublin, the VanBergen place seemed like a 2nd home. We all had so much fun…..from the cucumber picking, egg cookies, chocolate sprinkles, listening to Rosa talk on the phone on the wall (with the cord that stretched miles across the kitchen), Frank coming home from work at Stacey’s…to the rug on the table with the plastic cover …… Rosa gave wonderful memories to all who knew her. Can you hear her say…..Ya-Ya-Ya-Ya with a smile on her face…She loved everyone. I could write a book, but I won’t. Everyone who knew her has stories to tell, she was a wonderful spirit and I will cherish her memory always.

Rose was one-of-a-kind! I have wonderful memories of the van Bergen family when I was a teenager living in Dublin. Their home was a second home for me as I babysat all the kids many times while Frank was on his milk route, allowing Rose to go to church. On my way home from school, I would pick up their mail at the post office, give it to Rose and she would give me one of the twins to feed and change. A good trade!
