UYL: Laurence (Larry) of Exeter formerly of Hensall

Legion logo-W150At South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Friday, February 27, 2015 of Exeter and formerly of Hensall in his 76th year. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice Anny (Jones) Uyl (2014). Loving son of Adrianna Uyl of Exeter and the late Peter Uyl (1972).  Dear father of the late Darlene (2008) and Peter Uyl of Exeter.   Dear grandfather of Brent Lawrence of Goderich and Jessica Lawrence of Toronto. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Jane and David Harris of Ottawa, Ann Kikkert of Zurich, Tony Uyl, John and Ruth Uyl, and Peter and Linda Uyl all of Blyth, Bernice and Bob Brook of London, and Blossom Jones of London.  Remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son-in-law Paul Lawrence. Larry was a proud lifetime member and past-president of the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch #468 Hensall.

Friends and family may call at the Exeter Christian Reformed Church, 332 Huron Street West, Exeter on Monday, March 2nd from 9:30-10:30 AM, where the funeral service will be held at 11 AM. There will be a Legion Memorial Service in conjunction with the funeral service at 11 AM.  Interment Exeter Cemetery.

Larry was an active member of Branch 468 and worked tirelessly for the legion. He will be missed by friends and family but he will also be missed by the members of Branch 468.

As I write this I am filled with such great sadness,i am sad of missed opportunities,life and so many other factors that should have brought us closer,you were four years older then me but even when we were very young, we were apart most of the time,living in BC for many yearsI finally moved back to Ontario with the hopes of seeing my immediate family more, I have missed that family connecton so much ,then you became ill and your life was shortened..Larry as the first of the family of 6 we should have shared so much more and I am sorry that you were taken so soon,you have suffered enough my brother, I know that you will find joy and peace with our heavenly father and I know how much you will be missed. loveyour sister, Jane

I always enjoyed talking to Larry. We were both in the Legion at the Zone Level at one time. He and Bea are united again. He will be missed, our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

Larry and Bea were such good close friends with us. Glad they can be together once again. We had many good times through the Legion and in other ways as well. He truly believed in all the Legion stood for and worked very hard for the Veterans and for his Branch. He will be sorely missed by all.

Our sincere sympathy to the family of Larry, we were good feiends with Larry and Bea and knew them well through the Legion. They both worked hard and were dedicated members of their Branch 468, and Zone and believed in what the Legion stood for.
Larry will be missed by family, friends, neighbours and many Comrades. He will be missed very much.
