Tracy and Rob:
My condolences to you both.
I have considered Jean a long time special friend since our High School days at SHDHS. Distances have kept us apart but we still managed to see each other once in a while. She enjoyed bringing me up to date on her family doings.
We last spoke when she got home from the hospital and she warned me what was ahead for her.

Condolence from Linda & Jerry Traquair & family on December 21st, 2020 6:29 AM

Dear Tracey, Rob and family,
Your Mom was the best! One day, early in the school year 1988-1989, she told me if I heard that Craig was in the office daily, not to worry. He started school 3 months post traumatic brain injury ( 8 on the GCS). On his 1st day, he clung to the door frame and refused to enter…. one sister peeled his fingers away from the door and the other carried him in. Mrs. Turner arranged for Craig to report every morning to her office (travelling through and becoming acquainted with the big school). He sat on her lap and coloured pictures. <3 Another time, she told me that if we had touched base with Dr. George Hinton, we had touched base with the best pediatric neurologist in the world. Bless her heart. We were just one family. I am sure that she touched many lives in her positive fashion. Jean was a wonderful woman, educator and human being. We are so very sorry for your loss.

Condolence from Bill Fraser on December 21st, 2020 10:33 AM

I first met Jean at St. Martin-in-the-Fields where she was a very active member. Leading a campaign promoting ‘Good Deeds”, Sunday school superintendent, initiating an after-school homework program for children needing help were only three of many activities. It was a joy to visit her when she could not regularly attend where she shared her many experiences as a teacher and wise advice garnered from her life. A beautiful lady! My condolences. Bill Fraser.

Condolence from Jay Campbell on December 27th, 2020 6:08 PM

Jean Turner was a guiding light to our son Tim at Exeter Public School. She was a constant worker to assure he achieved to his potential. Tim now has several post graduate degrees. In later years Jean became a donor to our Camp Sylvan where we assisted teachers to educate their students in appreciating and understanding their natural environment. During the past few years she has continued to donate to the camp. Each year I would meet with her at her apartment home to receive the donation. Of course we would chat and have many recollections. I am sure I will not be the only one who will miss her sprightly spirit.
