TOPOLOVEC: Ivan of St. Joseph, formerly of Kitchener

With heavy hearts, we announce Ivan Topolovec passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the age of 74. Cherished and loving husband of Branka (Kirin) Topolovec for over 48 years. Proud father of Jane and Anthony Vranic, and Sonja and Trevor Stevens. Adored Djeda of Daniela, Christian, Maiya, Julia, and Nikolina. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Roza (the late Zoran), Miro and Manda, Martin and Marianne, Marica and Zlatko, Janica and Stepan, Stefica, Vlasta and Branko, and Stepan and Stefica. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Petar and Ljuba Topolovec and his two infant sons, Michael, and John.

Ivan was born in Croatia on Christmas Day in 1948 and he was one of 8 children. In Croatia, he met and married his soul mate of 48 years, Branka and they came to Canada in 1974, settled in Kitchener and began their family, raising their 2 loving daughters. For over 30 years, Ivan was a very dedicated group leader in the metal manufacturing industry. Through their 34 years owning their property in St. Joseph, Ivan and Branka created beautiful memories and formed many relationships in the area. Following retirement, they moved to St. Joseph permanently and built their dream home together. Ivan was faithful to his church in Croatia, Kitchener and St Joseph. Above all, he was a devoted family man and loved every moment spent with all of his family.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 49 Goshen Street North, ZURICH on Sunday, April 23rd from 3 – 5 PM. Registration is appreciated. To register, please click “Register Now” below.
