To Family & Friends. Elisabeth & I were high school friends that unfortunately drifted apart. Through much searching, I finally located her on Facebook, just this past year. Although we never got the chance to visit together, Elisabeth will always be in my thoughts. It is truly a sad day when we lost the light that shone through Elisabeth’s eyes. My sincere condolences to the family and may you rest in peace dear friend.

Condolence from Dakota Evans and Ron Rompen on February 4th, 2019 1:19 AM

I am sorry to hear of Elisabeths passing. I first met her moving my girlfriend up from Kitchener to Lucan right across the hall. We found a sea shell on the counter of the new place with sage and a few matches that Elisabeth had left “the new tenant”. Barb and I were delighted to meet her and had very many enlightened conversations as well as book swapping. Since I am a young painter she was also very gracious and gave me lots of advice on water colors. She appeared at my door the year before my son passed away with a birthday card for him. It was a print of one of her paintings that i loved. i still have it. she was so so kind, thoughtful and gentle and i will miss her. Now you can catch up with both Barb and Mike Elisabeth, and keep having laughs until we meet again. Miigwech All my relations!

Condolence from Bernie Capitano on February 5th, 2019 8:14 PM

You will be sadly missed Elisabeth by all who met you. My heart goes out to your family. For me, I have so many pieces of your artwork to remind me each and ever time I see them. And how fitting it was that I received the letters and cards that you wrote after Rowenas passing on the very day you passed on. So now the two of you can look down and smile knowing you are still loved and missed. Shine on in heaven.
Many hugs and kisses.
Your friend Bernie

Condolence from Lynn Maslen on February 13th, 2019 2:13 PM

Thanks to Elisabeth’s paintings hanging in the Ausable Center, one day I met the artist.

We spent many hours drinking tea, sharing our love for animals, and, in general, just enjoying each others company. We also made trips to the Bend to just sit by the beach and chat and, of course, pick up some frames that one of her acquaintances had custom made for her.

I miss Elisabeth. But, I know we will meet again.

My sympathy to her family.

So sad to hear
” Met Elisabeth 20 years agoish and was invited to a lovely dinner and walked into a room with the table covered in maple leaves. I will never forget that. And I will never forget her. Her art hangs on my walls, in my home, in Norfolk UK.

Condolence from Sue and Tessa Zimmer on June 17th, 2020 5:05 PM

We never met Elizabeth but heard many great things. Have a print: Capricious Sprite – think about how much she loved her dog and animals, appreciate her heart-felt interpretations tranformed into art; it continues to inspire and lighten our hearts. Wish we’d had a chance to meet; would have learned a lot. Grateful for her legacy.
