THOMPSON: Helen Pauline (Lewis) of Ailsa Craig, formerly of McGillivary Township

Passed suddenly at home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Thompson (1996) for 40 years. Cherished mother of Judy and Terry Morgan, Bev and Kris Thompson, Lori Thompson, Cathy Thompson, and Darryl and Tammy Thompson. Adored grandma of Melissa and Brian; Shawn, Jason and Cayley; and Matt and great-grandma of Lexi, Mikaila; Abigail; Logan, Skyler; Chase, and Harper. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Donald and Edith Lewis, Norman and Linda Lewis, Gladys Lewis, Eleanor Balogh, and Marilyn Thompson. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and the extended Lewis and Thompson families. Predeceased by her son Jerry Thompson, grandson Mark Morgan, brother Allan Lewis, siblings-in-law Mary and Gerry Bernardo, and Vince Thompson, parents Stanley and Jessie (Morley) Lewis and parents-in-law William and Eileen (O’Rouke) Thompson.

Helen’s greatest love was her family. She spent many years working on the farm, always caring for more than just those closest to her. A talented seamstress, Helen also worked as a waitress at the Malibu. She found joy in crafts and was an active member of the Parkhill Horticultural Society. Helen loved to travel with her close group of girlfriends and was well known for her wonderful baking, which she happily shared with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble and never missed the chance to cheer on her grandchildren at their sporting events, especially racing.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Thursday, January 22nd from 4 – 6 PM. Where Helen’s funeral service will be held the following day on Friday, January 23rd at 11 AM. Interment Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery

If you are unable to attend the service in person, the family invites you to watch the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh.

Donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or Parkhill Horticulture Society in Helen’s memory would be appreciated by the family.

Judy, I know it must feel like you have not only lost your Mom, but your best friend as well.. Someone who has guided you, supported you, and was one of the first people to show you how to love deeply and unconditionally. I see your Mom in you in so many ways, your smile, the way you engage with others,, your entire personality is a testament to your mom. As much as you were proud to call her your Mom, she was equally as proud of you. I know her loss is going to leave an inexpressible hole in your heart Judy. It is going to be hard to get used to that emptiness, and the void her passing has left. Praying for you and the rest of your family, for the strength and tenacity you will need, to help you get through this extremely emotional time. Hugs …
