Thelma Elizabeth (Fischer) Thiel, formerly of Zurich, passed away peacefully, at Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall, on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Charles Thiel (1984). Dear mother of Dianne Beattie of London and Mary Ellen and Paul Edwards of Manitoulin. Loving grandmother of Brent Beattie, Brad and Brenda Beattie, Shawn and Juliet Edwards and Nicole and Dan Mishchenko and great-grandmother of Kyle and Cameron Beattie, Devyn, Darren, Tara and Kiera Beattie, Ross, Eleanor and Claire Edwards and Samuel, Isaac, Grace, Caleb, Johnny and Mercy Mishchenko. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Mary Mae Wushke, Alice Thiel, Helen McKay and Theresa Link. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Jacob and Mary (Weiberg) Fischer, son-in-law Donald Beattie, sister Leona (Clarence) Reichert, brother Trueman Fischer and brother-in-law Albert Wushke.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N, Zurich on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Zurich, Ont. Pastor Nadine Schroeder-Kranz officiating. Interment St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Queensway Resident Fund.
A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Thelma Thiel
