TAYLOR: Joan (Kernick) of Lucan

At Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Saturday, February 22, 2014 of Lucan in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Robert Taylor. Dear mother of Luanne and Brian Herbert, Brad and Jan Taylor and Karen and Ken Curtis all of Lucan. Loving grandmother of Brent, Ryan and Miranda, Michael and Laura and Trish; Dan and Nicole and Andrew and Terra; Lindsay and Brad and Julie. Dear great-grandmother of Matthew, Naomi, Rachael, Bennett, Marlee and Skyler. Dear sister-in-law of Pauline and Walter Gordner of Kitchener. Joan is predeceased by her sister-in-law Margaret Reynolds.

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at 11 AM with Rev. Kathy Wreford officiating.  Spring interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lucan United Church would be appreciated by the family.

I was sad to hear of Joan’s passing. I have many happy memories growing up in Lucan and the fun we had at the Taylor’s. Working at the T&K Burger Pit with Joan & Bob and the Kraul’s, was a great summer job with all our friends! My condolences to all the family.

I remember back in the day (road hockey games at the beer store parking lot) Joan would always make sure we were warm and our parents knew where we were, and more recently as our neighbour.
Although I have not seen Joan in a few years, we will always remember her as a wonderful person with a smile and a warm heart.
