TAYLOR: Jean  RN, BScN formerly of Ottawa and Kingston

Peacefully with her family by her side at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London on Friday, September 22nd, 2017 formerly of Ottawa and Kingston in her 75th year. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Joyce (nee Taylor) and Neil Brown of Lucan. Loving aunt of Shelley and John Getty of Lucan and Karen and Bradley Bellows of Ottawa. Dear great-aunt of Taylor, Paige; Aidan, Rowen and Quinn. Predeceased by her beloved parents, James and Pauline (nee Glenn) Taylor of Kingston.

Jean was a nursing graduate of KPH, Dalhousie University, and the University of Toronto and had a passion for public health, working tirelessly in the Kingston area for many years.  She will be remembered fondly by her extended family, friends, co-workers, and all whom she served in her close-knit community, especially those through hospice outreach for both ovarian and breast cancer.

Friends may call at St. Patrick Church, 32922 Richmond Street, Lucan on Monday September 25th, 2017 from 10:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 AM, with Father Ross Bartley officiating.  Cremation to follow with a family and friends interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Kingston to be scheduled for Spring 2018, her 75th birthday.

In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to make donations, please consider St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, Ontario.  This place of solitude was a wonderful experience for Jean and her family in her final weeks and the medical/nursing staff, volunteers, and Sisters of St. Joseph were true angels sent from heaven.

May the road rise to meet you.

May the wind always be at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face.

The rains fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

-Traditional Irish Blessing

Joyce, Neil and Family:

Very sorry to read of Jean’s passing. She was a bright, enthusiastic and entertaining lady. I know my Dad and Mom were very fond of her.
Thirty years ago, Jean and Pauline came to our home to visit, prior to our marriage. I remember it well. We had some great laughs that day with Jean’s witty comments.

Our sincerest sympathy to you and your family.

Love,
Ann
