TADGELL: Peacefully, at Watford Quality Care, Watford, on Monday, February 15, 2021, Gordon “Gord” Maurice Tadgell, of Strathroy, formerly of Grand Bend, age 92. Beloved husband of Ria R. (Van Vooren) Tadgell and the late Emilia (LaPrise) Tadgell (1969). Loved father and father-in-law of Tim (Esther), Brenda (Brad) Bass, Stephen (Pam), Michael (Angie), Eric (Carol) and Ron (Barb). Cherished grandpa of 14 grandchildren and their families and 5 great-grandchildren. Remembered by Ria’s family in Belgium and the Netherlands, Emily’s family in Quebec and his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Bernice (Walker) Tadgell and his brother Ronald Tadgell. At Gord’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Strathroy, date and time to be announced. Gord and Ria owned and operated Country Market in Grand Bend for many years. He worked for his dad at the Supertest Gas Station in Strathroy for over 26 years. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Gord, … my deepest sympathies to Ria and the children whom I knew well from OLI — Tim, Brenda, Stephen and Michael, and then later Eric and Ron, coming up the line. I was honoured that Ria and Gord recognized me and would hurry to catch up with me to have a short visit and to shake my hand after Mass in Grand Bend— always with a smile— Hugs to all of you… In my prayers. I certainly enjoyed my employment at the Country Market with all of you – even the time that Ron (maybe Eric) threw the whipped cream pie and Gord just laughed.

So very sad to hear of Gord’s passing..I have not seen him for a long time ..but always enjoyed his visits at the office. he was always polite and kind…a true gentleman!

Ria… I just saw this while looking at another obituary. I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m thankful that we know we will see him again in heaven, and I pray that you have the comfort and peace that only God provides.
