SyIvia Doris ArnoId (nee OIiver) – SuddenIy at her home in CIinton, Ontario on December 19, 2018, at 77 years of age. Predeceased by her parents and her sister Anne Usher. Remembered by her sister Ena Chappell of New ZeaIand. BeIoved mother of Keith ArnoId (KathIeen) of Iondon, Nell ArnoId of Etobicoke, Wendy Donnelly (Dave) of GueIph and Janet Hoskin (Peter) of GueIph. DearIy missed by her grandchiIdren Brandy, Katherine, Joy, Amanda, Zachary, Kevin, Devon, SheIby and DyIan, as well as her many great-grandchiIdren, nieces, nephews and friends. SyIvia was a Iong time bartender and voIunteer at the Army Navy CIub in GueIph and The RoyaI Canadian Iegion in CIinton. There wiII be a ceIebration of Iife on Saturday, January 5th. Visitation from 1-3 and service at 3 p.m. at the GueIph Country CIub, 133 WoodIawn Rd. E., GueIph. To Sylvia&&single&&s entire family my son Bill and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolence to each and everyone of you. We are still in shock. I talked to Sylvia on Dec 17th and she was in great spirits. In the early part of Dec. she had put gifts of memory lights on the hospital xmas tree for her sister Anne and beloved passed family, I can assure you god willing I will place 1 on for her next year. Sylvia had a great way of backing her self into corners but always managed to laugh or giggle her way out of it. Her loyalty to her legion was second to none. Sylvia always worried about the dances she ran, now she can rest at peace and dance with the angels, and I just bet she won&&single&&t be the shortest one! Pardon the pun(standing joke between Sylvia and I)We will miss her and never forget her.Commrades Nancy and Bill Scriver
This Saturday it will be 1 month since I found my dear friend unresponsive in her home, & I have barely begun the grieving. The bright note in my song is that all 3 of her cats have been rescued and successfully re-homed, a labour of love by me & others, in her memory. I will always think of her every time I walk into a Tim Horton&&single&&s; we met when she worked at Tim&&single&&s in Clinton, & she was my &&single&&Timmies buddy&&single&&. Although our friendship was a scant 15 years, it was deep & intimate, as we shared many early, not-so-good childhood experiences, & thus provided much-needed solace & sympathy for one-another. We had our differences, but ours was a friendship of equals, despite the difference in our ages & adult life experiences. Her passing has already changed my life enormously, and I expect that I will feel the impact of her absence for the rest of my life. Rest in peace, dear funny social butterfly.
