SWEITZER: Madeline (Rundle) of Exeter, formerly of Shipka

Passed away at the Exeter Villa on Friday, January 8, 2021 of Exeter, formerly of Shipka at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Wray Sweitzer (1988). Cherished mother of Ron and Lyndia Sweitzer of Stratford, and Barbara and the late Don Dundas of Crediton. Proud grandma of Sherri and Andy Schmidt, Ron and Lisa Sweitzer, Bruce Dundas, Donise and Mark Baker, Leanne and Derek Kenney, Kristy and Michael Becker, and Veronica Jones. Adored great-grandma of Raeanne, Rachelle, Christopher, Samantha, Stephen, Mitchell, Michael, Tyson, Chase, and Nathan. Madeline will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a grandson Joe Johnstone, her siblings and their spouses; Hilda and Jack Smith, Laura and Frank Levy, Bill and Verna Rundle, and Uldene and Clifford Scott and in-laws; Ida and Bill Scholes, Sam and Ida Sweitzer, Virginia and George Clarke, and Evelyn and Glen Brenner.

A private family funeral service will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter on Tuesday, January 12th at 1 PM with Pastor Sandra Cable officiating. Interment Crediton Cemetery. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. Madeline always had a special place in my heart. When John and I lived across the road from Wray and Madeline we had such a great time. Madeline helped me so much with my 3 girls when they where babies. Every Friday night she would come over and help till John got home from work at 9.00. We had so many laughs together. So sorry to read of Madeline’s passing. She was such a gracious lady. I grew up near the family in Shipka and got reacquainted when moving back to the area. I recognized both she, Barb and Don as soon as I saw them. With all your memories, you will cherish them constantly, whether they are happy or sad. Don’t be surprised if you laugh out loud at things your Mom used to say or do. Those are wonderful times. Everyone has my sincere condolences.

So sorry for your loss. Remember all of the wonderful times you had with Grandma/ Madeline.She would always ask where you were from.
