STEWART: Florence “Rosemary” (Bell) of Crediton, formerly of Kincardine

Of Crediton, formerly of Kincardine, passed away peacefully at South Huron Hospital on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late John E. Stewart (1993). Cherished mum of Brian and Marilyn Stewart of Toronto, Dianne Faubert and Daryl Tripp of Crediton, and Leanne “Leigh” Robinson of Exeter and David Burghardt of Lucan. Proud Gramma of Shea Robinson, Britt and Andrew Hodgert, and Victoria Stewart and Great-Gramma of Axton and Hayden. Adored “Aunt Babe” to many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by Travis Robinson and Carolyn Gower.

Rosemary was proud to be the Postmaster in Crediton for many years, forming relationships with those in the community. She was known for wearing a white blouse with a brooch regardless of the occasion. Rosemary enjoyed tending to her gardens and took pride in her home as this was the hub for family gatherings. Above all, she was so proud of her granddaughters, having them for sleepovers, and was thrilled to have spent time with her twin great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Saturday, March 30th from 2:30 – 4:30 PM, with Rosemary’s memorial service following at 5 PM. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at the Kincardine Cemetery at a later date.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family.

My heart broke when I saw this announcement about your dearly loved Mother. I know how close you all were too her, and just how much her passing is going to leave a gaping hole in your lives. You were incredibly lucky to have had her for such a very long time, just as she was equally as lucky to have her family so close by. When ever I saw Rose Marie she had the most beautiful smile, , she was always dressed so nice, everything always matched, and yes,, I remember those broaches that she always wore. She certainly was a special lady and will be dearly missed. I am so sorry to read about your Mom’s passing,, you are all in my thoughts and heart, hugs.
