We would like to extend our sympathy to all the Steckle families as you grieve the loss of a dear family member, John. May you take comfort in sharing memories of your father, grandfather, brother or dear friend. John certainly persevered through many physical challenges and with few complaints. We were amazed that he still wanted to attend the Christmas Eve service this past year – a testimony of the importance of his faith in God.

Grateful for such a life. Prayers for God’s grace during this time.

We were very sorry that we couldn’t attend John’s service this morning but our thoughts were with all of his family. John and Marian were two of the kindest people we have ever known and it was always a pleasure to be where they were. Growing up close to the Josiah Steckle family was a privilege never taken for granted…so many happy memories. Our condolences to everyone in the family.

It was my privilege to have known John for many years when he was involved with the Church of God in Eastern Canada. He served with us in many different capacities with wisdom and enthusiasm. He was a great worker and supporter of our campmeeting at Maple Grove in Thamesford. He and Marion filled various responsibilities during our week there. He was always positive and was an encouragement to me. We praise God for the service he rendered to the Lord wherever he was.
I know the family will miss him, but as we were reminded in the service today, it is a temporary missing, because a great reunion will one day take place.
