SIMPSON: Peacefully, at Bluewater Health – Norman Site, Sarnia, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, Donna Marie (Machuk) Simpson, of Lambton Shores, age 69. Beloved wife of Garey Howard Simpson. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Matthew and Paulette Stapleford of Burlington, step-mother of Cheryl Simpson and partner Sam Edwards of LaSalette, Marlin and Tammy Simpson of Norwich and Anthony and Deana Simpson of Woodstock. Cherished grandma of Justin (Taryn) Buck, Clarissa Buck (Harold Aarnoudse), Taylor (Nathan) Malcolm, Brody Simpson (Taylor Reichheld), Tyson (Sadie) Simpson, Drake Simpson (Leah Wilson), Brooke-Lynn Simpson (Owen Minler), Colton Simpson, Wesley Simpson. Treasured great-grandma of Ariya and Everley Buck, Georgia and Willow Malcolm and Aubrey Simpson. Predeceased by her parents William and Caroll (Conley) Machuk. At Donna’s request, cremation has taken place and no formal services will held. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to Canadian Cancer Society or Bluewater Health – Sarnia would be appreciated by the family.

Garey and family I am so saddened to hear of Donna’s passing. Although the time that I spent with her was all too short, she left a huge and lasting impression. She was one of those people who you know are just a light. Her humour and compassion was shown immediately. This world is better for her having been here. Sending love to her family in this sad time.
A Letter To My Friend
Dear Friend,
I Miss You.
I don’t know what else to say but “I miss you” , I mean I miss everything about you I have learned over nearly 50 years of friendship and sisterhood.
I miss your hearty laugh,especially when we would laugh non stop over something only we found funny at 5:00am.
I miss your wise words, you always knew what to say when I needed sage advice.
I miss your spontaneity, that led to many adventures.
I miss your hugs, what ever the reason happy or sad, your hugs always made things better.
I miss your selflessness, always willing to help someone in need.
I miss our talks,
I miss your heart,because not only were you selfless, but you were generous,kind and loving to all of those around you.
But most of all, I just miss you.

My deepest sympathies Garey, Matt and families.
I regret that we had drifted apart but it didn’t keep me from thinking about her often. I reminisce about our travels, and our friendship and it always makes me smile.
I enjoyed having Donna in my life for as long as I did.
