SIMMONS: Pauline formerly of Exeter

With saddened hearts, the family of Pauline Beatrice Simmons (nee Hess) announces her peaceful passing on February 2, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Wesley Eldrid (1993) and loving mother to Bill and Betty Simmons, and Janet Simmons and Rob Bell. Dear grandmother to Amanda and Kevin Walker, Alicia and Bryan VanDyk, Jeffery Simmons, and Craig and Melissa Simmons. Cherished great-grandma to Reagan and Blake Walker, and Tristan, Morgan, and Bryson VanDyk. Survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy Hess and by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Harry (1957) and Beatrice (2000) and brother Gordon (1992). The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the exceptional and caring staff and volunteers of the Blue Water Rest Home in Zurich. She was treated with such dignity and compassion by everyone. 

Friends and family may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter (1 Street west of Main), on Friday evening 7-9 PM and again on Saturday, February 4th from 10-11 AM, where the funeral service will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Catherine Calkin officiating. Interment Exeter Cemetery.

Sympathy may be expressed through donations to a charity of your choice.

My sincere condolences. For many years Pauline was the treasurer of the PCW of Caven church.
She worked very hard, not only as treasurer but as a member working in the kitchen
for fund raising events. We had many laughs together.
I have many happy memories of our times together.

My first introduction to my husband’s friends in Exeter was a dinner party at Pauline’s home.Her husband was a close friend of Doug.We later visited them in Florida. Pauline was always a very graceful hostess.Condolences to her family at this very sad time.
