June 5, 1936 — June 18, 2021
Jerry’s incredible journey, filled with fun, adventure, success and challenge is now complete for this one of a kind man. Jerry will always be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a compassionate and generous soul with a marvelous sense of humour and an infectious laugh. His family was his greatest joy.
Jerry will be deeply missed by the woman he adored, Mary (Skinner), who he was happily married to for 61 years. Loved by his three daughters and their spouses. Mary Ellen and Jeff Brook, Joanne and Geoff Wood, and Suzanne Shore and Jamie Cuthbert. Cherished Papa to Harrison (Julia) and Spencer Brook; Morgan and Madison Wood (Iain Finkbeiner); Jacob, Maeve and Benjamin Cuthbert-Shore. Each of his seven grandchildren had a strong and unique relationship with him. They each benefit from his sense of optimism, work ethic and love of life. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Ellen Shore. He is survived by his sister Marion (Don) Reaume and his brother Jim (Kathy) Shore. Jerry will be greatly missed by many brothers and sisters in law (Skinner) as well as many nieces, nephews and long-time friends.
Jerry was a homebuilder in London for 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman. His other passions included hockey (he learned to play at age 50!!), family ski trips, golf, outdoor activities and especially spending time with his family and friends at his cottage in Grand Bend.
Keeping with Jerry’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, EXETER. (519-235-1220)
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Jerry was a special kind of guy. Few fellows can put on a pair of skates at fifty and keep on skating to the end.
During the fifty plus years that we’ve known Jerry he always greeted us with a warm smile and a sincere hello, “glad to see you.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all; We hope that your fondest memories shine brighter than your sorrow.
And may you find peace and strength in every tomorrow.
