We are very saddened to hear of Josie’s passing. She was a very kind and dear lady who was a very good friend of our mother, Maxine. We knocked on her door during our last visit but as usual she was out gallivanting. Our deepest sympathies to her family.

To the Ryckman Family:
Josie will be missed by so many family members and friends. We at the dining program will miss her smile and kind words. She attended for so many years and gave of her time and talent playing the keyboard for Oh Canada and the Grace before lunch. Josie always had a few words to say to me at the end of the program. We would talk about the meal or the good entertainment while I was clearing off the tables and putting the equipment away. I always looked forward to these short little visits. Josie always kept me informed of her family and when they were home from the West always invited them to attend with her. My thoughts are with you at this sad and shocking time in the death of Josie. May you cherish the loving memories you have of her.

Condolence from Michelle, Perry, Zac and Alexa Sereda on October 21st, 2013 10:13 AM

To Josie’s family and friends; Josie will forever be remembered by the Sereda family as Maxine’s best friend and cohort in adventures. Many a day I would find your mother and my mother-in-law parked in our drive tooting their horn to ‘come out and see’ whatever treasure they found on their outing. All too often it was a four legged variety that ended up on our property…but always it was a smile that these visits brought to all of us as it made my mother-in-law filled with joy every time she and Josie went off. God bless, she will be missed but I am certain that she and Maxine will be in the car heading off to a new adventure right now. The Seredas xo

To Josie’s family:
We are very sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. We have many fond memories of Josie and Mahlon as they were dear friends of our parents Norm and Mabel Stanlake. Our family visited your family’s farm in Saskatchewan during a road trip in the early 1960’s. We remember how excited Josie was to see us all. Of course, we shared many local get togethers when they returned to Exeter. Josie was a cherished companion to mom when they both became widows. Our most sincere condolences.
