Gladys passed away peacefully at the Seaforth Manor on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Fergus Ruston (2011). Loving mother of Mary Lou and David Scott, Joanne Boyd and Dan McGrath, and Julie Ruston and Ted Hodkinson. Proud grandma of Michael, Jim (Stephanie), Dan (Megan), Jody (Barry), Janet, Lauren, and Patrick and 11 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Claire (Bonnie Lou) Denstedt, Donald Denstedt, and sisters-in-law of Hariette Denstedt, and Merle Ruston. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and her friend and caregiver Kelly Hodgins. Predeceased by her parents Clarence and Edith Denstedt, and siblings Marie Medrak (Frank Medrak and Francis Hammar), Gerald Denstedt, and Doreen (Donald) Foerster.
Gladys had an incredible memory for the people she loved — never missing a birthday, anniversary, or special date. She held her family in her thoughts and prayers each and every day. Devoted to her community, she helped raise significant funds for the Alzheimer Society and spent many happy hours playing bingo and other activities. She proudly served as President of the Family Council at Seaforth Manor for many years. The family would like to thank the staff at the Seaforth Manor for their many years of support and care for Gladys.

My condolences to the family. We went to school together.
So sorry to hear about Gladys. She was always such a hard working gal in my Seaforth Manor days. She loved going out to her “job” several days per week and always just as happy to be back home in the afternoon. Gladys was such a great participant in many programs. She will be missed.
My sincere condolences to the family during this difficult time.
My condolences to you and your family Mary Lou
Sorry to hear of Gladys passing, she was a lovely lady and the heart of the Manor 💕
So sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. I knew your Mom very well as she lived next door to us on the farm. She used to come down and visit our Mum many, many times. I have thought about her many times through-out the years. My brother Jerry said she used to come and see him every year at his garden center in St. Mary’s.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.
