My heart is breaking at the terrible news….Sherrie, Jason and Jordan, along with Bonnie, Norm and family…my sincere condolences go out to you all today at the loss of one of Lucan’s most loved man. Ron was a one of a kind guy who lit up a room when he walked in. His humour and actions always left you laughing. I have many fond memories of him which I will hold dear forever. His wit and huge heart are just a few of the many great qualities the old buggar had. I will always remember the encouragement he gave me these past few years when starting my cake decorating business, whether it was a comment of good job, or something rude in Simpy style…I knew that it was genuine and he appreciated it. He will be missed by so many people, but never forgotten either. My heart goes out to you all….one of Lucan’s finest. I will miss you Ron

Condolence from Tracey Lightfoot on November 19th, 2011 10:55 PM

“Shelly”, Jason & Jordan,

All my thoughts, prayers, and LOVE go out to you. Simpy lives on… his humour, wit, INAPPROPRIATENESS (that we all love), and his internal gentle nature will be with you, and all of us for years to come.

One thing that I loved about Simp is that he never left a person unnoticed. Even if it was months inbetween from not having seen him, he always made a big deal about my presence and found a way to make me feel special for being there. (Even if it was him testing the waters with me, seeing how much he could dish out…especially in front of my boyfriend). That’s what I really loved and admired about him. He had a light-hearted nature to him, knew how to make us all laugh, but was so tender and loving on the inside.

The last time I spoke with him since I saw him in person this summer was on facebook. I had posted a status saying “I’m officially an idiot. I’m sick as a dog and running a 10km race today”. All my friends were posting things like “good luck”, and “you can do it”….and the last comment I received, in pure Simpy fashion stated “I always knew you were an idiot”.

Gotta love him.

It was a pleasure growing up with Ron and your family.

Lots of love to you all!
Love, Tracey Lightfoot
