Condolence from Bill Eastway on October 7th, 2017 11:48 AM

I first met Brian when I was 9 years old. Our dads worked together at the O.V.C and my dad was also a horseman. One Saturday morning he was giving Chuck, Brian and Terry riding lessons using the OVC horses and I was invited to join. That was the start of a life long relationship with all of the Roe family but Brian and I had a strong connection. He called me Young Will and I called him BW.

He was sometimes gruff on the exterior but I can assure you he had a big heart and a soft interior.

You were loved my brother. You will be forever my friend.

Condolence from Larry and Lucie Quartus on October 7th, 2017 2:33 PM

Dear Jori, and dear cousins; I was very sorry to hear of Brian’s passing.

Brian and I were born just six days apart, and as children we were together quite often; (although getting together meant either the Roe family would have to trek to Ottawa, or the Quartus family to Guelph).

I always admired Brian for his spunk, and for his zest for life. And, although as adults we saw each other seldom, I always valued having him as a cousin.

My deepest sympathy,

Larry Quartus

My daughter and I are so sorry to hear of Dr. Wallace’s passing. My daughter and I were clients while he was still in practice. We had been there where we had treatment for our kittens. He actually had retired when we went for an appointment but were told that he had retired. Both Dr. Wallace and Jodi had been so kind to us and we really never got to say thank you and good bye. So here we are , now is our time to tell him that he was so appreciated even if it was for a short time. Jenny and I like like would like to send our condolences to Jori and her family at this time and thank you both for being the nice people you are. xo Jenny and Wendy Peers.

Reading through the condolences offered by caring people – people who have taken the time to lend strength through their kind words – has been meaningful and appreciated by the Roe family. And it makes me want to write my own words about a father from whom I have learned so much. In honour of my father I want to offer the words that I associate with my dad.

Wisdom
Humour
Perseverance
Intelligence
Ethics
Knowledge
Spirit
Independence
Advocacy
Love
Do your damnedest

All of these words comprise the strength of character owned by Dr. Brian Wallace Roe.

Whether the means were by example or force of will, he ensured those words mean something to all members of our family.

We are all better for it.

It remains an honour.

Condolence from Lisa Hagen on October 14th, 2017 12:02 PM

Jori and family
Our heartfelt sympathies. We are thinking of you often.
