The UWO Mustangs Football team were greatly saddened to hear of Mackenzie&&single&&s death. After winning last night&&single&&s football game (hurrah!), one of the team captains read the card that Mackenzie wrote for them. There weren&&single&&t too many dry eyes in that group of big tough football players. We know that we have an angel in our backfield watching over us and will try our best this season to get to the Vanier Cup and “never give up”, which was Mackenzie&&single&&s advice to the team. Mackenzie will continue to inspire us to be a better team, a better player, and a better person.

I choose to believe that everything happens for a reason although the reasons may be unclear and unfair, and it certainly is difficult to understand why it was time for Mackenzie to leave this earth. Even though he is not present in body, I do believe he is present in spirit and always will be. He was a great neighbour. We enjoyed playing on the trampoline and catching the baseball. Also when you came over to play the PS 2 was one of our favorite times with you Mackenzie. The soccer games were fun also because we would always score on you( only because you let us though). Even when you were feeling sick you would come over for a little while and shoot the puck around or play tether ball. We will always remember the fun times with you and Matt and will miss you always.
