At LHSC-UniversityHospital, Londonon Monday, September 24, 2012 of Denfield in her 78th year. Beloved wife of Wilfred Lix. Dear mother of Mike and Kerry Dimitrick of Dorchester, Jamie and Kelly Dimitrick of Parry Sound, Lana Thistle and Tim Carter of Lucan, Lisa Lix and Frank Geisen of St. Marys and Theresia and Dan Pollock of Kirkton. Dear grandmother of Ellicia and John, Michael and Jonathan; Luke and Jordan; Matt and Joel; Anthony and Alexandra and great-grandmother of Evelyn. Dear daughter-in-law of Maria Lix of London. Dear sister-in-law of Norbert and Sylvia Lix of Dorchester. Predeceased by her son Mark Dimitrick and her brother Roy Turner.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Tuesday evening 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 26th at 11 AM with the Rev’d Andreas Thiel officiating. Cremation with interment Woodland Cemetery, London.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your mom.I have known Rita for years (since I lived in Denfield) and she was always such a likeable person with her funny ways and her accent which I loved.I then had the pleasure of seeing her again quite a few times when she came into the pharmacy and we would chat about “remember when”.I know she will be missed by all of you.May your happy memories help you in the days to come and keep her in your hearts forever.

When I think of your mom I remember joy, laughter, silliness, love and really great pickles. I see your mom’s playful spirit continuing on through all of you. The funeral yesterday was truly lovely. I hold you all very close to my heart.
