Suddenly at home on the farm on Friday, October 31, 2025 at the age of 67. Cherished husband of Debbie (Loyens) Riddell for over 46 years. Loving dad of David (Robin), and Scott (Angela). Proud grandpa of Avery, Jordan, Nicholas, and Desireè (Rob). Beloved son of Lillus (Cook) Riddell (Fred Lewis) and son-in-law of Raisa (Dykyj) Loyens. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Sherry (Ron), Nancy, Susan (Randy), and Cathy (Steve). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Jim Riddell, and father-in-law Harry Loyens.
A lifelong farmer, Don began working the land alongside his mom and dad, and later continued farming with Debbie by his side. Once they discovered cruising, there was no turning back — together they travelled the world, making memories in every port. Don was a proud Detroit Red Wings fan, and his greatest joy was time spent with his family, whether at the beach, the cottage or at the rink.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Wednesday, November 5th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM, where Don’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6th at 11 AM. Cremation to follow. A private family interment will be held at Granton Cemetery.
