Dear Peter, Richard, Louise and families
Sherry and I were saddened to learn that your father has passed away. We know he was a wonderful man and he taught his children to be wonderful sons and daughters. He was very fortunate to have all of you at his bedside during his failing health.
Your children I’m sure have grown and learned immeasurably through the love and commitment that you demonstrated for your father.
I have many wonderful memories of Uncle Lee, but one that stands out is the time he helped me change the clutch in my 57 Studebaker.
The days ahead may be difficult, but stay strong and positive knowing your Dad is in a better place.

I think every grandchild got to have a special time with Pa growing up and mine began when he moved in with my family eight years ago. I really can’t imagine a time he wasn’t there. He wasn’t just a grandfather he was a part of our family. He’s been there through all my ups and downs to going into my third year of university. Even though I moved away for school, I would come home every other weekend to the point where he would tease and say “Your coming home again??” but his big smile when he picked me up at the train station with my father will forever be remembered. He has driven me to study hard and I believe because of his support and prayers I am where I am today. I have been by his side from day one to by his bedside while he took his last breath. He is my best friend, my Pa and I will forever miss him but now I am blessed to have him as my guardian angel.

We’ve lost one of the good guys. Speaking personally, few people have had a greater impact on me than my uncle. His down to earth and common sense approach to life made him an ideal role model for many of us. Even though he had a family of his own to care for, he could always find time to teach us to drive, show us how to win at euchre, help finance that first car, or just talk over the latest scheme. A talented jack-of-all trades, and master of many, much of what I know of these things comes from his advice and guidance. A rare individual, he’ll be sorely missed. Recently Peter, Richard and I were asked to select 5 words that would describe our dad. As you can imagine, the list was long but one word that we all agreed on was “humble”. Dad was an awesome role model to his family in two profound ways: his love, care and devotion to our mother and his focus of living out his faith. Brian, Matt , Diane and myself were blessed eight years ago when he moved from our family home in Zurich to our home in Dorchester. Each of us had the privilege of sharing special time with him. Our blessings continued as we had the privilege of caring for him during his last days in our home. Thanks Dad for always listening. You will be greatly missed. I am confident that we will continue to be blessed as you watch over us and pray for us. God Bless!

This extraordinary man was many things to many different people. He was a tremendously dedicated husband, a loving father of 3, a grandfather of 7, and great grandfather to many. He was known throughout his town for the many jobs he held and countless lives he touched.

But to me he was more than a grandfather…

He was the person that greeted me at the door everyday after school and the reason I never owned a house key.

He was my partner in crime, the one to say “don’t tell your mother” oblivious to the fact she was completely within ear shot.

He was the reason we never had a dandelion on our lawn

He was the man that made sure my sister and I never missed the school bus and the one to make sure that I could afford to attend university

He was the person who would watch the “Bugs Bunny and Tweedie” show every night with me at 7 o’clock sharp! And he was the one to pit the cherries so I never had to.

He was the single biggest role model in my life and most importantly the man I had the pleasure of sitting beside at the dinner table for eight wonderful years.

Goodbye Pa, you will be missed but never forgotten.

So sorry to learn of Lee’s passing. I haven’t seen him for quite a few years but I really enjoyed my aquaintance with him. He was a very honest a likeable man. We had a great time as we were included in the group to start a custodian’s committee for the Huron -Perth RC School board back in the ’60’s. I believe there were only three of us.. You have my condolences to all your family
