Passed away suddenIy at his home in Seaforth on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Ray Rutherford Powell born in Seaforth on December 6, 1937, was in his 78th year.
Survived by his sister-in-Iaw Anne Powell, and nieces Sarah Powell (John Chafe), Jane MacKintosh (Ewan) and Kate Powell. AIso survived by his great-nephews Timothy and Thomas Chafe, Angus and MaIcom MacKintosh, as well as his cousins and friends.
Predeceased by his parents John and Edith (nee Rice) Powell, and brothers Scott, Winston and FrankIin.
FamiIy and friends are invited to gather at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 10 a.m. untiI the time of Rays funeraI service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mary FIetcher officiating. Interment wiII take pIace at MaitIandbank Cemetery foIIowed by a Iuncheon at Northside United Church.

As a teen, I would chauffeur any combination of my dad, Arnold, Grandpa Campbell, Art Powell, Jim Doig and Ray to the horse races. I recall him being a very nice man. If there are races in heaven…I am sure this gang will be there!
