Condolence from Nancy (Kunder) Malachowski on September 23rd, 2019 11:00 AM

Doug, Nancy, and the Anstett family: I am so very sorry to read of the passing of your dad. Although my family has been gone from Seaforth for many years, Ray is someone that I recall with fondness. As a child I would often venture into his store for a gift for my family members and friends. I recall one year not having much money, but I had seen something special I wanted to buy to help cheer up my mom during a very difficult time. I told Ray why I was there, and Ray asked how much money I could spend and what I was looking for. I showed him what I wanted. Ray told me that, “Today only, that item is on sale. How lucky you came in today.” My mom loved her gift, and her smile made me feel better. I have often thought back on the kindness Ray showed me that day. Whether I saw him at the arena or in his store, Ray always had a smile on his face. May your wonderful memories make the pain of your loss a little easier.
