RAU: Andrew Orville of Zurich

Peacefully, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Saturday, October 16, 2010, surrounded by his family, Andrew Orville Rau of R.R. 3 Zurich, passed away in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Alida Laura Grenier (2002). Dear father of Richard and Barbara Rau of Zurich, Michael and Beatie Rau of Dashwood, Terry and Helen Rau of Exeter, Mary Lou and Paul Gunning of Grand Bend and Suzanne and David Bell of Tecumseh. Loving grandfather of Lori and Mark Laporte, Darren and Aimee Rau, Lisa and Matt Hartman; Tammy Davidson and Jim Dickins, Paul and Elsa Rau; Nicole and Britt Gunn, Bradley Turkheim and Jen Barkley, Candace Gunning and Mark Gagnon, Ryan Gunning; Stephanie and Luke Henshaw, Ashley and Jody Males and great grandfather of 13. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Anthony and Patricia Rau, Henry and Matilda Rau, Antoinette Taylor, Jean Geoffrey, Theresa Masse, Marie Rau, Donna Rau, Harold Denomme, Lottie Grenier and Betty Grenier. Predeceased by his parents John and Matilda (Bedard) Rau, brothers Wilfred and Joseph, sister Madeline Denomme and brothers-in-law Robert Taylor, Ted Geoffrey and Leo Masse. Andrew’s family and his music were the joy of his life and he enjoyed shared his musical talent with many in the community. Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N., Zurich on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Zurich on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. Fr. Peter Keller celebrant. Interment St. Boniface Roman Catholic Cemetery. Parish Prayers will be said on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society.

Snapper will be missed.
I’ll never forget the time when I was young and we were out with my Pepe (Lloyd Denomme), my brother, and Snapper was was flipping turtles out in the swamp. Those big snapping turtles were sure mad and he really had us laughing.
