RATZ: Barbara “Barbie” Joan (Webber)

RATZ:  Passed peacefully, at her residence, RR 2, Crediton, on Sunday, March 02, 2025,  Barbara “Barbie” Joan (Webber) Ratz, age 78. Beloved wife and best friend of Larry Ervin Ratz.  Loved mother and mother-in-law of her twins, Tracy Ratz-Merkley & her husband Giovanni Marsilio of Chesley, Trevor & Janine Ratz of Guelph.  Cherished grandma of Parker & Olga Merkley, Teigan, Taelyn and Caden Ratz.  Dear sister and sister-in-law of Marg McCarter, Marlene O’Brien and Doug & Patty Webber. Barb will be remembered and missed by her many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents Lee and Helen (Selves) Webber, brothers-in-law Gordie McCarter, Glen Ratz and in-laws Ervin & Nola (Isaac) Ratz.  Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation on Thursday, March 06, 2025, from 4 to 7 pm.  A Private Family Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, March 07, 2025, with Mr. Mark Graves Officiating.  Cremation will follow with Interment Crediton Cemetery. Barb was an active member of Zion United Church in Crediton and the Crediton Community. She loved her farming life, her family, gardening, flowers and passion for grass cutting. She was well known for her bubbly personality, smiles and her many, many hats.  She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Society of Canada (formerly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), the Zion United Church, Crediton or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Barbara was ultimate class. Such a peaceful, kind, happy woman, and always the best-dressed at church on Sunday mornings.
