Jack passed away suddenly on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the age of 77. Cherished husband of Joan (Young) Price for 58 years. Loving dad of Trevor and Krista Price, Dwayne Price, Dean and Keri-Lynn Price, and Jaime and Owen Hart. Proud grandpa of Marissa, Kylie; Trent (Dakota), Owen, Cole; Ava, and Grayson. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Charlie Price, Mary and Ken Broadribb, Bill and Gail Price, Kathy and Mark Smith, Colin Young, Caroline and Manuel Martinho, and Kevin and Karen Young. Predeceased by his parents Alf and Marie Price, parents-in-law Tom and Nan Young, sister-in-law Veronica Price, brothers-in-law; David Nigh, Alistair Young, Graeme Young, and sister-in-law Lori Young.
Jack was a proud fastball pitcher who loved sharing the game with his sons and grandchildren. A dedicated coach of both baseball and hockey, he was especially fond of his time at the arena in Seaforth, where he worked, coached, and cheered on his children and grandchildren. As president of the Seaforth Centenaires, Jack poured his heart into the community he loved. He also enjoyed curling, golf, and bowling, and was a loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. Known as a jack-of-all-trades and a hardworking provider, Jack found joy in his work at the arena and in conversations with the many friendly faces he met there. Above all, he cherished time with his family and the friendships he built through sports and community.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at the Seaforth Legion, 123 Main Street, SEAFORTH on Sunday, September 14th from 1 – 4 PM, with words of remembrance at 2 PM. Cremation with interment St. James Cemetery, Seaforth.
In lieu of flowers, donations to SickKids Foundation or Seaforth Minor Baseball would be appreciated by the family.
