Condolence from Ry and Judy Mills on November 9th, 2020 10:34 AM

Elaine, Bruce, Marie, Ron and Alan and families;
Please accept our very deepest sympathy at your loss of a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and our faithful friend. Elmer was a stalwart of our church and our community. We enjoyed hearing his memories of days past, his insights and reasons why things should be as they are. He enjoyed visiting with people and was always concerned and asking about family members and people he knew. He was very proud of his own family and their achievements although he had to be asked before he would tell us about their accomplishments usually. Elmer has left a wonderful legacy in his family. He certainly enjoyed their musical talents as well as all that they did. After Etta passed away I remember him talking to me about it. He missed her so very greatly but he shook his head and said what can you do but go on, as hard as it is. We will miss Elmer and his wisdom, his thoughtfulness, his smile, but as hard as it is, we will go on, remembering all that Elmer did for us and gave us. God bless.

Alan and the Powe family: Our deepest condolences on Elmer’s passing. During my 20 years at Centralia College, across the road from the Powe farm, we met on many occasions, during the year that the Powes allowed our students to study their farm business, when Elmer would attend s short course at the College or host a beef farm tour group. During my curling days I often played on or against Elmer’s team. I always appreciated his wisdom and experience and thankful for knowing him.

He will be missed by the whole family.
