Jean passed away peacefully after a short illness at LHSC-Victoria Hospital on Thursday, May 9 2024, surrounded by her family at the age of 92. Jean was the cherished wife the late Leonard Francis Poole (2020) for over 69 years, a devoted mother to Carolyn, Jeffrey (Kathryn), and Warren (Jessie), and a loving grandmother to Katherine (Chris), Alison, Laura (Craig), Alan (Hope), Kimberly (Aaron), Jennifer, and Jonathan. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Bryson, Blake, Nash, Jameson, Austin,and Callahan. Jean will be lovingly remembered by the Poole family and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her sister Margaret Zurbrigg. Jean’s memory will live on through the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Jean was devoted to providing love and care to her family throughout her life. She enjoyed simple pleasures like spending time with her family and grandchildren. Jean’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church in Arva on Monday, May 13th from 12:30-1:15 PM where a memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, with The Reverend Kate Hathaway officiating. Private family interment at St. John’s Cemetery in Arva will follow.

Our deepest sympathy to Aunt Jean’s family. We will truly miss her at our monthly breakfasts at Harry’s restaurant which we have had since Covid was over. She was always so upbeat and so knowledgeable as to what was going on in everyone’s lives. She will be missed by us all.
I will miss Jean, she was a lovely neighbour. Always friendly with a smile and a positive outlook.
I admired her for her wisdom and her practical, independent approach to life.
I know she will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Your energy will continue, Jean.

So genuinely kind , welcoming and friendly , sharp as a tack and actually very funny, we often met on our dog walks. Jean knew everything that was going on in the world, could talk about anything .
Jean baked me apple crumble many times simply because she knew I loved it.

Until the end Jean was sharp and engaged in life, always pleasant, never complaining, with a no fuss attitude and a positive outlook on life. She was a wonderful neighbour and friend. Our deepest sympathy to the family. She will be missed by anyone that knew her.

Our heartfelt condolences to Aunt Jean’s family. It was always so nice to see and catch up with Aunt Jean and Uncle Len at the Poole family picnics. Aunt Jean was so kind and caring. She will be missed. May your wonderful memories bring you comfort at this difficult time.
