Martha was always part of our family. We have many fond memories of our Christmas and Birthday parties. She was the perfect representation of a “Mom” or “grandma”
She loved her family with all her being and we were the lucky ones to have her with us. Kind – compassionate- beautiful smile- I know she is with the angels and mom and dad , Willie and her mom have been waiting patiently for her to join the party. We loved this very special lady.

There are no words to express what my Aunt Martha meant to me. She literally was like my “second mother”. So many of my greatest childhood memories include her and my cousins (more like siblings) as we all grew up together.
She instilled the importance of family in every one of her children, which has been carried on to this day.
She was all about her family; n her strength and devotion was unwavering.
I’ll carry her love within me forever.

To my cherished cousins and their families, my heart is deeply saddened for all of you. Knowing that she will be watching over you from this day forward is in itself a Blessing.

My deep condolences to my dear Overholt cousins as you say farewell to your beautiful Mom.

Some special memories: Even though my Aunt Martha and Uncle Willie had seven children of their own (my Most Awesome Cousins :-) there always seemed to be room for one or two or three more in their fun-filled, yet extremely organized and well-run home. Spending a week or two in Zurich each summer was truly one of the major highlights of my year. Waking up in the morning to breakfast laid out on the table because Aunt Martha had gotten up early to make breakfast for Uncle Willy before he headed off to work, everyone working together to do the morning clean-up chores and then a whole day of fun until we gathered again for lunch or dinner. There was a whole building that was a ‘play-room’ a big garden, a backyard filled with trees and a just a sense of joy and fun. Aunt Martha could be ‘stern’ for a few seconds or so, if she needed to be but there was always a smile and a twinkle in her eye very shortly after. I don’t remember her often sitting down, she was always working although she DID have an afternoon nap, some summers. Anyone who knew her doesn’t need me to describe her but just wanted to say how blessed I have felt all of my life to be always welcomed into the home, life and celebrations of such a wonderful family led by Aunt Martha and Uncle Willie who have passed their wonderfulness on to their children, my cousins and their spouses. May you be dancing together in heaven with smiles on your faces and may you feel our love and gratitude for the great love and lives you lived and shared with us. xxoo

We have met so many angels in the past two weeks then we have in a lifetime. Our journey has been long but how it ended was more than we could have asked for to be at Jessica’s House all together. Dementia is heartless disease take’s your loved one a little piece at a time, then throw Covid in which just added to more frustration , we all feel some guilt that we were not there more, but I know that Dad’s presence was with you when we were not. The nursing home became your new home and your caregivers your new family who took such good care of you and really loved you . Thank you for all the beautiful memories, the good times and your unconditional love. I know your strength was installed in us all, you rest easy now, give Dad a big hug for us all. Watch over us all until we meet again 😘

Our love goes out to all of Martha’s immediate family. Joe and I have such wonderful memories of our many trips; including Las Vegas and Nashville with Willie and Mart. Martha will forever be remembered as our Pepper champion at cards. So many laughs and good times shared over the years that we will never forget. Mart has left such a legacy of love that will forever live on through her children, grand children and great-grand children. Praying that the good memories you have with her will help to get you all through this difficult time.

It was with great sadness that I heard about Aunt Martha’s recent passing. I have such wonderful childhood memories of visiting Aunt Martha and Uncle Willie’s home growing up. I was always so excited when I knew I was heading to Zurich for a visit. I remember her fabulous cooking, her kind generous spirit and her beautiful backyard garden filled with vegetables. Aunt Martha will remain in our hearts forever.

My condolence to my first cousin’s and their family.Over the years,I would get an update of Aunt Martha health from Patti at the farm office.It would be frustrating to see your mother failing.I think down deep inside, she knew she raised a great family.I know the community thinks so.Job well done by Aunt Martha and Uncle Willy.They are great example of family first.Talking to my mom last night, she wish she could have made it to the ceremony.Mom remanence for a long time about your mom and dad.They had many good times together. Rest in Peace Aunt Martha.
