Peacefully, with family by his side, at the Mitchell Nursing Home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 of Lucan Biddulph at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Phyllis (Grose) O’Neil for over 57 years. Dear father of Brian and Amanda O’Neil of Lucan. Proud Poppe of Jake O’Neil and Danielle Steven, and Joe and Taylor O’Neil. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Keith and Barb O’Neil, Lois VanGeel, Marlene O’Neil, Marg and Greg Meyers, and Gwen Grose. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Joe and Merna (Hodgins) O’Neil, parents-in-law Hilson and May (Hodgins) Grose, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Calvin and Marjorie Grose, Charles Grose, Audrey and Hamilton Hodgins, and Carl VanGeel.
Don was born in Biddulph Township and was a proud farmer and supporter of the local community all his life. Special thank you to the Mitchell Nursing Home for their care and compassion over the last 2 months.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Sunday, November 7th, from 1-4 PM, where the funeral service will be held on Monday, November 8th at 11 AM with Rev. Allan Livingstone officiating. Interment in Birr Anglican Cemetery. Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, each person must RSVP for the visitation and/or the service; please click “Register Now” below to register.
Due to Provincial COVID-19 proof of vaccination restrictions, each person must show proof that they are fully vaccinated to attend the funeral service. Proof of vaccination can be attained by visiting covid19.ontariohealth.ca. If you are unable to attend, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your home.
