Peacefully at Alexandra Marine & General Hospital, Thursday morning March 18, 2021, of Goderich and formerly of Seaforth in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Ken Oldacre (2003). Cherished mother of Ann Utley and her husband Bruce of Blyth, Steve Smith and his husband Charles of London, Jerry Smith and his wife Gaylene of Beaverdell, B.C. Loving grandmother of Tammy Thomson (Clint), Luke Hoy (Dave), and great grandmother of Rachael (Johnny), Colby, Jacob and Julia. Dear sister-in-law of Ruth Clarke. Missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Predeceased by parents Eva (Epps) and Melvin Clarke, brothers Ernie and Elliott (Kay), and sister Mae Watterworth (Reg).
Betty was a woman of many talents, over the years she enjoyed traveling with her husband Ken, making many sandwiches for the United Church, playing cards, sewing, and knitting. She was always dressed to the nines and up for an outing and a good laugh. Betty was certainly a master of the kitchen; her butter tarts were a favourite for everyone who tried them.
Cremation has taken place; a celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Seaforth (519-527-1390).
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.

Our sincere condolences to Betty’s children. We are deeply saddened to here that Betty had passed away. Betty was a very special lady who had the ability to make your day so much brighter when you ran into her. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to Betty’s family and friends. I have many fond memories of Betty’s beautiful smile and her truly kind nature as a coworker of hers at Seaforth Community Hospital as well as a fellow member of Northside United Church. She filled the role of switchboard attendant with grace and integrity..
So sorry to hear of Bettys passing . She was a great lady and had many a chat with her .Anne, Steve and Jerry you will have lots of great memories to hold on to. Take a day at a time to heal your broken hearts.

So sorry for your loss, your Mom will be so missed. Lots of treasured memories of Saturday night card games, shopping trips, scenic drives, Birthday celebrations and for many years Betty’s Friday Night Ritual ‘Mexican Train Dominoes’ with Pam S and I, if we were lucky Ann joined us bringing lots more laughter. Oh and often the evening would end with a cup of tea and one of those special butter tarts, When Betty left her home in Seaforth, Harbour Hills Retirement Suites in Goderich gained a bright light. Miss you Dear Friend!

I heard your mom talk many times about how she loved and she enjoyed showing photos of you all and her grandkids May your memories give you piece.
I got to know Betty through Northside United Church and enjoyed her company immensely. She was a kind, compassionate woman who always had a smile and friendly word. My deepest condolences.
So very sorry to hear about Betty. I had the privilege of working with Betty on switchboard at Seaforth Community Hospital for 13 years. She was always so kind and caring. She will always be remembered.
Betty was a lovely and gracious lady. I remember visiting with her and Ken at their home in Seaforth when I was minister at Northside in Seaforth. And I certainly enjoyed many a delicious butter tart in Betty’s kitchen! Please accept my sincere condolences on her passing and know that you are in my prayers.

When we heard of Betty’s passing, our hearts were heavy….she was a special lady who always was so kind and welcoming. We loved her and always will. Our lives were so much richer for having known her. We shared good times playing cards with Betty and Ken. Her memory will remain with us always.
I worked with Betty at the Seaforth Hospital many years ago. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever meet. Truly an awesome lady. So sorry to hear of her passing

My sympathy is extended to Betty’s family. She was my great neighbour for 32 years. Will remember all those Friday night games of dominoes with Cathy A. and Betty. The good times were wonderful and they will never be forgotten.
